Day in the Life ~ Spring 2018

It’s been a long time since I did a Day in the Life project. I used to be part of a few online communities that did them quite often, but that was years ago, so I have really missed seeing them. I think they’re so cool! DITL projects are like a mini documentary of your day, and I love getting to see glimpses into everyone else’s days, too. It just makes me happy. I think it’s because it makes me feel like we’re all connected, all going about our daily lives.

So imagine my excitement when I saw the new challenge over at Recapture Self to do a Day in the Life Project!

I finally did mine yesterday, and here are my photos from the day…

First, a collage of a few morning shots. This is how I wake up lately! Me in my CPAP mask (always; I never sleep a night without it), little boy snuggled behind me, dog snuggled between his and my legs, and husband next to us, too (not pictured). I have a new mug of water and my daily medication (Vit D and Zoloft for anxiety), too.

2018 Catch the Moment – Week 10

I am a bit behind and posting this late, so I’m going to skip the usual intro and head straight into the photos!

064 | Mon, March 5 ~ Mondays often find me working on my bullet journal and today was no exception. I just particularly liked how my March calendar turned out – it was really fun to make!

My Very First DSLR Camera!

Can I just say how excited I am? I am really excited! I just got my first DSLR!! My wonderful husband got it for me, after I’d been jonesing for one for a while now. Especially since I took my first photography class this spring. It was called Momtography, put on by Beryl Ayn Young. I’m glad that I still have access to all the videos, because I’m still re-watching them, and learning more. Anyway, I was able to practice the steps in that class with the help of my wonderful sis in law, Cinnamon, who loaned me her camera, a Canon Rebel T5i! I loved it! And when I went researching to see what I might want to get for myself, I saw there were a few newer models in that same line. So, Joe got me the Canon EOS Rebel T6i, and it’s pretty rad. I look forward to taking and sharing a lot of pictures from it!

Even Homer is excited about learning more about photography, because the other day, he said excitedly, “Mama, let’s go out and take pictures of nature together!” So I got my new camera, and he took his iPad, and here are some of the images we took on our outing together!

Catch the Moment, Week 11

Is it me or did this week go by really, really fast? It feels so weird that it’s already time for another picture post! This week has been good. My goal to spend less time in front of screens has been helped by our awesome weather, which has been very cool but still sunny. I love those moments when the sun sneaks out from behind the clouds. It’s this Great Sun Reveal that makes my heart swell with joy. Then the grey clouds have been so puffy and changing that they, and the drizzle they bring, have made me smile a lot, too. So, we’ve been playing outside and enjoying the season and just having a pretty great time. And celebrating a couple anniversaries along the way! Here are this week’s pictures…

Day 071 | Mar 12, Thurs – Today was a trip to IKEA with Sarah and Marcus. I got a little teary eyed this day, because on the same day, Homer picked out sheets for himself so he could sleep in his own bed that night, AND he went to the IKEA day care for the first time!! All by himself. I was all sniffly that he was having such a growing-up day!! (Of course the past two nights he’s been back in our bed, but he said he’d go back to his bed tonight.) Anywho, I was glad to snap this cute shot of Marcus, who has those gorgeous eyes, and has been talking up a storm!! He’s so fun. And I like how it looks like his dinosaur shirt is about to eat his bread!
