Catch the Moment 2018 – Week 19

Hi everyone! This was a fun week, with a lot of variety of photos and experiences. The weather has also been really warm and sunny, so it’s finally Spring-y and even Summery out lately! It’s pretty nice, especially after the long, cold winter we had. I mean, I know we don’t get ten feet of snow like some places, but holy cow it was grey and chilly for such a long time. I’m really enjoying wearing tank tops and shorts these days. It’s awesome! On to the photos!

Mon, May 7 ~ I went for TWO walks on Monday, and actually made it to 10,000 steps that day. It was awesome! I loved walking by the water with a friend. We had a great time, and I got this awesome shot!

Catch the Moment 2018 – Week 15

Hello, hello! It’s been a cold and dreary week, and for part of it, I was in a real funk. Luckily, after some writing and reading, that funk has lifted and now I feel a lot more peaceful and myself. So, yay! Who knows what the heck that was all about! Anyway, I did pretty well taking photos on my Canon this week. Half are from that, and half from my phone. I hope you enjoy them!

Mon, April 9 ~ The trees are trying to be Spring-y! Even if the temperatures (cold, 40s F) and sunshine level (i.e., hardly any) are not yet on board!

2018 Catch the Moment – Week 13

Hello, and welcome to another installment of Catch the Moment! I didn’t remember to focus on any themes at all this week, but that’s ok. I still got some cool snaps during our pretty laid back week. I also formatted them a little different through Lightroom this week, so let me know if they look better or worse than usual!). And, here they are…

085 | Mon, March 26 ~ This is the face of a very bored, but very patient, little boy. We went to the diabetes education meeting for Joe, and learned all kinds of stuff about diabetes and nutrition. I just thought he looked so cute behind all this fake food. It’s too bad he doesn’t love fake food the way I did when I was a kid. I would’ve been playing with everything nonstop. But he just wanted to go home! Luckily, he soon got his wish and we did not, as he feared, stay there forever.

2018 Catch the Moment – Week 11

This week was a pretty good one. I wish I’d gotten some more photos on my DSLR, but it was all phone photos this time around. I have been working on some goals, some mindfulness exercises, and on eating healthier and walking more. It’s going really well, even though it can feel tough sometimes, too. I’m excited to be doing as well as I am! And now, for this week’s pictures! ~~

071 | Mon, March 12 ~ My sweet sleepy boy between his two favorite dogs; his real one, Ashton, and his stuffed animal, Doggo.

My Very First DSLR Camera!

Can I just say how excited I am? I am really excited! I just got my first DSLR!! My wonderful husband got it for me, after I’d been jonesing for one for a while now. Especially since I took my first photography class this spring. It was called Momtography, put on by Beryl Ayn Young. I’m glad that I still have access to all the videos, because I’m still re-watching them, and learning more. Anyway, I was able to practice the steps in that class with the help of my wonderful sis in law, Cinnamon, who loaned me her camera, a Canon Rebel T5i! I loved it! And when I went researching to see what I might want to get for myself, I saw there were a few newer models in that same line. So, Joe got me the Canon EOS Rebel T6i, and it’s pretty rad. I look forward to taking and sharing a lot of pictures from it!

Even Homer is excited about learning more about photography, because the other day, he said excitedly, “Mama, let’s go out and take pictures of nature together!” So I got my new camera, and he took his iPad, and here are some of the images we took on our outing together!
