And here we are, the very last week of 2018’s Catch the Moment 365 project. Whew, we made it! Hooray! And even though it’s being published in late January, it is getting posted, so hooray for that too! On Dasher, on Dancer… I mean, wait, no. On…to the photos!
Mon, Oct 15 ~ All right, well it’s Monday, and we’ll start the week off with NO photo! Whoops! Moving on…
Here we are, week 27!
Summer has been in full swing lately. We’ve had some ice cream outings, watermelon, most of my coffee I’ve been drinking has been iced… XD We’ve run the air conditioner a bunch, and have driven with windows open a lot, too. Our home windows are almost always open, fans going, and we’ve been reading, watching tv, playing video games, and watching movies all in the middle of the day. I love Summer! Here are our summery photos from the week ~
Mon, July 2 ~ Homer decided out of the blue that he really needed a “whole lot” of Solo cups to stack. “Like, at LEAST a hundred, Mommy!” It was pretty inexpensive for this set of them ($4.50 for 84 cups), and he has already spent about two hours total playing with them, so… Maybe it was an ok idea? I feel a little bad about the plastic purchase, honestly, but then again we have a lot of plastic items at home. I’m not sure why these cups bring more guilt than any of the other plastic items we have purchased. (Maybe it’s just that I’ve been reading more about waste reduction lately, so it’s making me rethink a lot about what we buy and what we use. This probably won’t be a repeat purchase, but also, they should last a long time as our play cups, so that’s good…)

This was the week of double photos! I got a bit off track when choosing photos, and long story short, I ended up with more photos than usual. Bonus photos, if you will! Anyway, it was a good week, for the most part. Summer has arrived! It’s getting warmer and sunnier, and there are a mere four days of school left for Homer. Exciting! And now for the photos ~
Mon, June 11 ~ This little guy has been enjoying car rides way more than he used to! It’s so cute how amped up he gets, often giving many glances over to the car as I take him on walks each day. Ashton walks along, then looks at the car, then at me, as if to say, “Are we going??” He was happy the answer was yes on Monday when I brought him with us to go pick up Joe from work. They looked so cute together when Ashton just jumped into Homer’s lap!
Intros to these weekly photo posts are the hardest things to write. So, how about we just dive in? On to the photos!! ~~
Mon, June 04 ~ I had asked Homer to participate in a kids’ writing contest, the kid version of the one I love participating in called LJ Idol. He was not interested at first. After asking daily for a few days and always getting similar reluctance, I finally said, “I mean, you never know, maybe if you finish all the weeks, you might even get a prize. And it’s only 4 weeks! So 4 stories. I think you’ll enjoy it.”
He said, “Really? A prize? Like a banana split all to myself???”
“Uhm… Yeah, sure!” I said.
He did say it was more fun than he thought it would be, so maybe he took away at least a fraction of the love for writing that he has always had for banana splits!
Good job writing all 4 stories, Homer!
