This week started out with smoke filling the air, from the rampant wildfires to the East and North of us. These fires seem more and more common each year, and honestly, it just weighs on me so much thinking about the potential implications of what this could mean for our future. The air quality index was anywhere from 190 – 220, rated worse than the air in some of the world’s most polluted cities, like Beijing. Headlines read Breathing Seattle’s air right now is like smoking 7 cigarettes.
Photos showing the thickness of the smoke were unreal. I just don’t ever want this to be our new normal. It’s so sad and scary.
Luckily, we got some rain, things calmed down some, and the air quality improved. Best of all, we got some awesome visitors, and had some awesome celebrations! So the week improved greatly during the last half! Here are the photos ~
Tues, Aug 21 ~ Tuesday we stayed inside all day, and I forgot to take a photo. Bleh.
Fri, Aug 24 ~ Often, it takes a lot of planning ahead and jotting things in calendars in order to make plans with friends. And then sometimes, you have a friend invite you over on the spur of the moment for a chill tv karaoke night at their home, and you get to say: heck yeah, I’ll be right over!! I had a super fun time with Meander and Amanda, and Homer got to play with Flora. It was awesome!
Sat, Aug 25 ~ My brother, Wyatt, his wife, Alyssa, and their daughters / my nieces, Ruby and Anna, were in town!! And it was Allister’s birthday!! So Garth and Cinnamon invited us all out to dinner. Our mom was there, Cinnamon’s mom was there! It was a big ol’ dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory, and it was awesome! These two cousins are always super cute together ~
Sun, Aug 26 ~ Sunday was Allister’s birthday party at Pump It Up! I can’t believe this little guy is 3! So many people attended and had the best time celebrating with him! It was really awesome and lots of fun. ❤
And that’s about it! Thanks for stopping by, and come back soon for more photos and stories!
