It was a really lovely week, overall! The sun came out a bit more, there was a party, there were some lovely surprises! Awesome stuff ~~
Tues, April 24 ~ I went through Homer’s things and snapped photos of his birthday cards from his classmates, so that we’d have photos but I could recycle the rest, so there wasn’t just a pile of 20 cards on his table for all of eternity. And this is one of my favorites of the whole bunch. So sweet!
Thurs, April 26 ~ The next day I decided to try out a new craft, as I’d never done cross stitch before. As a total n00b to it, I must say, it’s kind of tricky!! I think I might like it, though? Hard to say. This photo fits the Catch the Moment prompt for the week, “Challenge.” It most certainly is!
Fri, April 27 ~ Friday night was D&D sleepover at Meander’s place!! Homer was with me too, and had a blast with Flora. We played an epic battle, which almost destroyed us all. I, assassin elf that I am, freaking DIED. Then I was resurrected. (Seems fitting for a birthday, somehow!) Then we sang karaoke so long I almost lost my voice, and ate some really delicious homemade cake. A wonderful way to spend an evening, for sure!
Sat, April 28 ~ MY BIRTHDAY!! So party the night before was an awesome way to ring in my birthday. And quiet recovery day at home was an awesome way to spend my actual birthday!! When I walked in the door, Joe walked up, cupcake in hand, lit candle in it, singing “Happy Birthday” to me, which Homer eagerly joined in on. He had ordered cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes, and they were flipping amazing. Like, holy wow. So good. Much delish. And then like two minutes later, there was a knock at the door, and a woman handed me a huge bouquet with a balloon and everything, and the card read: Happy Birthday Mommy! Love Homer” Awwww!! I love that they conspired to get me wonderful things to make my birthday special. It is really, really sweet and highly appreciated!! I love them!!
Sun, April 29 ~ Next day was Sunday, which I spent at the zoo doing volunteer training! I’m excited to be getting more involved with the zoo again. I had a good time listening to the talks and getting re-excited for zoo stuff. Also, I got to snap this photo of Yola and her mother, Nadiri, and I’m dying of cuteness overload that they were sitting the same way. Like mother, like daughter!! So cute!
I’m happy it was such a nice week, and hopefully, in spite of it getting all cold and grey again over the weekend, hopefully it will continue warming up and staying sunny. Because I think we all really need it! Come here, sunshine!!! Heeeeere, sunshine, sunshine, sunshine…!
Hope you’re having a lovely week! Let me know what you’ve been up to in the comments!
