2018 Catch the Moment 365 – Week 2

Hello! It’s a new week, with new photos! The theme this week for the Catch the Moment group is Goals/Wish for the Year, and for me, that’s my Jan 11 photo. I want to get much more fit than I currently am, and am paving the way for that now.

Without further ado, here are the photos!

008 | Mon, Jan 8 ~ Homer painted a still life of a bowl of apples and oranges in school. His art makes me so darn happy! I love displaying it on the walls. This one is hanging above my desk right now.

009 | Tues, Jan 9 ~ I admit, this was a Solstice project that got super delayed! But you know what? I didn’t abandon it. I finished it! I hung it outside like I wanted to since Dec 21. I actually got my act together and did it, and it made for a really cool photo. So, hooray, ice wreath!! A symbol of winter, the continuous turn of the Wheel of the Year, the end of winter (it melts as we head into Spring). It’s a circle to represent cycles in life. And I daresay it is a symbol of perseverance because I actually finished a project and hung this outside!!

010 | Wed, Jan 10 ~ Goodbye old car!! It was a lovely car and sad to see it go. But I do love my new CARDIS now, so it’s ok. A new era officially begins! (or something, ha!)

011 | Thurs, Jan 11 ~ I took a 10 min walk, purely for the purpose of fitness. I’m trying to cultivate small, consistent habits, so my therapist told me to start small. Which I did. And then I did it! So I guess it’s working!

012 | Fri, Jan 12 ~ On Friday, Homer’s school had a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly, and I’m so glad I went. I legitimately had to hold back tears hearing these sweet little kid voices sing songs about equality and a better world. I love these kids! I so hope the world moves in a better direction for them, and for us all, than it has been under the “leadership” of President Dumpster-fire.

013 | Sat, Jan 13 ~ We let Homer camp out in the livingroom to watch the finale of All Games Done Quick, the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild run. It was Joe’s idea, and then I figured out how to keep the cushions together (for the most part) using the sheet. Yay, team work! Homer loved it and slept there all night!

014 | Sun, Jan 14 ~ Happy birthday to Joe! I swear, it said “birthday” too, but that part fell to the floor right as I snapped a photo. So, “Happy b !” to Joe, apparently. I’m so excited to know that my talent of writing backwards in cursive will now serve me well to write all sorts of things IN CHOCOLATE!!

I hope you all had a lovely week! Best wishes!

  1. That painting is so cute! He did such a great job. It’s always a bittersweet feeling to get rid of something old to get something newer. Just think of all the new adventures you’ll be having in the new car though – I am jealous 😉 And yay for small steps to the new you. That is all it takes too, people don’t seem to realize that.

    1. Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Angie! Yes, new adventures await us in the new car! And small steps do seem to be the key. Too many times, I’ve tried to do huge sweeping steps, but little steps are laying a really good foundation for better fitness, and I’m excited about it!

    1. Hi! Thanks for following me. Yay, thanks for the compliments on the ice wreath. It was fun to make. And that’s funny we both got new cars! My old car’s engine died, which was a bummer. But now we have the new car, and it’s pretty exciting. Ours is a Toyota Sienna.
